A little less than a year I met two foreigners. We discussed where they could go in north of Estonia, in the end of the conversation they asked me: “Where can we go to see a moose? This question came unexpectedly, I had to keep my smile – because in reality, we don’t see moose in Estonia nearly as often as people might think.
There are signs on the road, but no schedule in the forest
Along Estonian roads you’ll find familiar signs warning that a moose might suddenly run out onto the road. These signs exist for good reason. But that doesn’t mean moose move according to some predictable timetable — that you can show up at a certain spot at exactly two o’clock and find one waiting for you.
It simply doesn’t work that way. The moose is an elusive animal that moves in a scattered, unpredictable pattern, and even with years of experience as a guide, meeting one largely comes down to chance.
A story about red deer that didn't show up
P.S Beauty on the picture was captured during second round a bit later in the same day, when first round result was zero
